Speaker and Poster Instructions

For speakers:

  • Unless otherwise stated in the programme, talks are 12 minutes long, with an additional 3 minutes reserved for questions from the audience (15 minutes total).
  • Presentations need to be accessible to a broad audience, not only those who work in your field of Astronomy. This is especially the case for plenary talks.
  • We support presentation slides in Powerpoint or PDF format as we will be using Windows laptops.
  • We will distribute surfdrive links where everyone can upload their slides.
  • For ease of use, please try to stick to a maximum filesize of 100 MB.
  • Please stick to the following filename convention:
    <Lastname>_<Firstname>_<Title>
  • We will show your presentation with our SLOC laptop(s), and it is not possible to connect your own laptop or device to the audio-visual setup.
  • We will provide the opportunity to test your slides at the venue in the break or ~ 30 minutes before each session.
  • We will supply a wireless presenter / clicker.

For posters:

  • Size: A0 or smaller.
  • Only the portrait poster-format will be supported.
  • Each poster is associated with a Poster_ID which you can find here:
    https://indico.kna-rnas.nl/event/1/page/10-scientific-program-overview
  • Please print the poster yourself and arrange, for example, a poster tube for ease of transport.
  • We will provide poster boards, along with means to stick your poster to the board (e.g. tape, thumbtacks).
Choose the poster board with the correct Poster_ID.
  • Apart from receiving the "Great Dodecahedron," the poster prize winner is asked to present their results in a 5-min plenary flash talk on the last day of the conference.
  • The main criteria for the poster prize are:
    • Verbal presentation.
    • Scientific content and impact.
    • Structural completeness.
    • Information clarity.
    • Visual clarity and originality.
  • In case of questions feel free to reach out to us.
