Description

The recent very-high-energy (VHE; >100GeV) spectra of the afterglow emission of three gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) shake the current understanding of the underlying physics of a relativistic shock, formed at the impact surface from a plasma outflow crashing at almost the speed of light into its surrounding. I will show the limitations of established modeling and discuss new scenarios including their multi-messenger context.
